Under what circumstances will the battery electric locomotive have insufficient capacity?

The main purpose of the battery electric locomotive is mine transportation, but sometimes the driver may feel that the power of the battery electric locomotive is not strong enough and the transportation capacity is insufficient. Why is this? The reasons for this problem in battery electric locomotives are probably due to improper use and poor management.

There are two main possibilities for improper use:

One is overload. Taking the 5T Yutong battery electric locomotive as an example, its motor configuration is 7.5kw*2, so the traction force is around 40-45T. When the load exceeds this value, the electric locomotive will naturally feel powerless. In this case, the lack of traction force of the electric locomotive is the second thing. The important thing is that long-term overload will not only cause insufficient capacity, but also reduce the life of the electric locomotive, especially the life of the motor. And the overheating of the motor can easily cause other problems.

Second, the slope is too large. Depending on the model and configuration of battery electric locomotives, the slope limit may be slightly different. But the basic requirement is a few thousandths, and the maximum is no more than 3%. The greater the slope, the greater the required traction force, etc., and the electric locomotive will naturally appear weak.

There are two main reasons for poor management:

First, the battery power is insufficient. The battery electric locomotive needs to be fully charged, and its power will be strong enough. Insufficient power is like letting a hungry person work, and naturally they are powerless to do things.

The second is maintenance. The transmission mechanism is seriously worn or even faulty, and there is a problem with the power transmission, so the electric locomotive will naturally not move. And once there is a problem, it is probably not the lack of power, but the direct strike of the electric locomotive.

The above is a simple analysis of the sometimes insufficient power problem of battery electric locomotives. Of course, if it has just been put into use, and there is no improper use and insufficient power, it is recommended to contact the manufacturer.
